The Stables Barn - Timber Structure

Added: 12th January 2017

Having been commissioned in the summer of 2016 to design, develop and construct a ‘Winter Hideaway’ to be used during the winter months as a cosy retreat for eating, drinking and relaxing. We set about to design the timber structure in such a way that the design allowed for the Barn to be erected and dismantled each winter.

Planning permission had to be sort from the Snowdonia National Park and the structure had to comply with Building Regulations, Fire Regulations Etc.  All of this was considered during the design stage and incorporated into the design prior to the construction. The pre-fabrication of the 14 wall panels and 10 roofing panels took place at our workshops in Llanrwst along with the floor structure, timber roof trusses, doors and windows. All of the pre-fabricated units were then erected within our car park prior to being delivered and erected on-site to give the finished product. Verandas were added to the rear of the building and one gable end that allow for outside seating areas.

The barn is complete with electric lighting and wood burning stove. With our oak tables, benches and carved log seating all adding to the cosy atmosphere of this ‘Winter Hideaway’.The structure is set to be removed at the end of January and erected again in October ready for another three months of winter.
